3.2 Miles one way-No Campfires-dogs allowed
No Trail Left Behind completed the Mount Olympus Peak trail this week. This is a challenging hike, even for a seasoned hiker. The majority of the trail is very steep and full of high steps. Also, much of the latter part of the trail is class 2, requiring you to climb up large rocks. However, if you're up for a challenge and aren't afraid to climb a little bit; then, this hike will give you the grandest view of the Salt Lake Valley you will ever see. Some hikers like to attempt this hike before sunrise, to get a unique view of the valley filling with sunlight. However, this trail is closed from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. We found a small amount of trash ranging from used tissues and orange peels, to empty plastic bottles. In total weighing around half a pound. In addition to that however, we found four discarded plastic bags of dog feces. We were the last group down before the sun set, so we believe these bags were never going to be picked up. Be aware of the possibility of running into bags like these along the trail if you choose to hike this destination.

Everyone on a trail is responsible for its condition, good or bad. We chose to uphold the former; and, we hope you will too!
