About 3 miles from trailhead to peak
Dogs allowed on Odd Calendar Days

Grandeur peak is a 6 mile out and back hike up millcreek canyon. While steep, both the false ridge and the peak itself offer magnificent views of the salt lake valley. Expect many other hikers to be joining you on the approach, as this is a popular hike. Millcreek canyon requires a fee of $3 per vehicle for day and overnight use, and as such it's trails are typically better maintained than those in the neighboring Wasatch canyons. Despite this, I left the mountain with a handful of old candy wrappers and a length of bubble wrap. I also delicately disposed of a condom wrapper (no sign of the instrument itself thankfully!) All in all this trek is excellent as either a day hike, or for the more adept hikers a challenging afternoon mountain adventure.

Everyone on a trail is responsible for its condition, good or bad. We chose to uphold the former; and, we hope you will too!
